Mini Wonders

Mini-Wonders Workshops are set up to help your child become kindergarten ready. Our CMON Educators closely follow the guidelines set out by our local school districts and child development advocates to guide your young ones to practice essential skills that enable the transition from PreK or home-based learning to a formal kindergarten classroom.

Workshops take place during the school year and are free for members and $10 for all other guests. These hour long workshops take place on:

Thursdays at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 3:30pm

Fridays at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm

Mini Wonders serves children 3, 4, and 5-years-old. The skills and activities presented will be specifically geared toward the developmental skills and attention span of this age range.

For the focus of our participants, only registered students and their adult helpers will be allowed in the workshop. All parents must always stay in the building.

  • Parents of single students are encouraged to stay in class and actively assist their child in learning and collect tips on how to incorporate some of the activities and skill building into their everyday life.
  • If you bring a sibling (or another child), you may leave your 3-5-year-old in class and take the sibling into the museum to play and explore. We are hoping this will give you time for some great one-on-one interaction with your other child, but also an opportunity for your Mini Wonders student to practice independence. Be sure to come back to class at 11 a.m. when the class ends to gather your little learner.

*If you see a message regarding no session, that means all sessions are SOLD OUT at this time. Check back often as sessions become available with cancellations or call 239-260-1600 to be added to our waitlist.

Rainbowdance®

CMON is excited to announce that it will be offering a new program! Join us for Rainbowdance® – a music and movement program to children ages 0-5 on Monday mornings at the museum this fall.

Rainbowdance® is an expressive arts program perfected to work out wiggles and giggles while building foundational tools like empowered movement, attunement, positive social engagement, and safety building. Built on the foundation of collaboratively navigating self-esteem, self-regulation, and social empathy, each 45-minute class journeys from parachute and silk play to animal improvisation to story time and then learning how to transition into and out of simulated rest time. AND your child will sing the entire time!

Classes are at 9:30 a.m. on Monday’s starting 10/2 through 12/18 (no class 9/18)

$25 non-member child/adult; $20 member child/adult; $15 additional child

*Note that this program is specifically for children 0-5 years-old and a parent/guardian must attend and participate in class.
