CAPTAIN AMERICA REVEALED AS SPECIAL GUEST FOR CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF NAPLES FUNDRAISER

NAPLES, Florida (January 19, 2022) – The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON) announces that actor Anthony Mackie, globally recognized for portraying Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and who has picked up the shield as the most recent Captain America, will be this year’s special guest at Night at the Museum: Superheroes Unite! on Friday, February 18.

The annual Night at the Museum gala is CMON’s biggest fundraiser of the year and has become one of Naples’ most highly regarded events. Night at the Museum: Superheroes Unite! is hosted by event chairs Sonya and Brian Sawyer with honorary chair Shelia Smith Davis. This year’s gala fundraiser will feature a variety of heroic performances and exceptional experiences throughout the evening, including a VIP meet-and-greet opportunity with Anthony Mackie.

The Night at the Museum event was created to be a fun and playful night for a serious reason—inspiring the children in the Southwest Florida community. This fundraiser helps support CMON, a nonprofit organization, provide a fun and educational space where families can play, learn, and dream together.

Superheroes Unite! will recognize the talent and dedication needed to found and operate the museum, as well as that of the heroes in our community. Just as Captain America dedicated his life to helping others, so do our country’s service men and women, first responders, and teachers.

“I believe we have a responsibility to do our best to leave the world a better place than we found it,” said CMON CEO Dena Rae Hancock. “Just like superheroes and our community heroes are doing, CMON strives to make meaningful differences in peoples’ lives.”

Sponsorships and tickets are available for the fundraising gala at cmon.org/events/night-at-the-museum/.

About the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON)
The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is a brain-building powerhouse and Southwest Florida’s first museum devoted for children and families to learn through play. With hands-on exhibit galleries, the accessible museum invites visitors of all ages to journey through the swamps of the Everglades, weave through a maze, climb a two-story banyan tree, or experiment with the water play station. Children can become a weather forecaster, a farmer, a chef, a fisherman, an artist, an architect or a veterinarian; explore the cold of an igloo, the whoosh of the wind, the sound of the sea, and the effects of gravity. Throughout the day special activities encourage our guests to get involved, try something new and be energized. CMON offers a variety of interactive exhibits providing kids with education, play, learning, science, technology, engineering, inventions, space exploration, art, math, storybooks, creation, building, sensory, and child development.
