Beth Housewert, Director of Play and Learning at the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (C’mon) recently graduated from the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce program GAIN—Growing Associates in Naples. GAIN targets young professionals 21-40. The focus is building great friendships, connections and roots in the community.
Housewert found GAIN to be both informative and empowering. “Networking on another level with up and coming professionals while we learn all about the wonders of Collier County is a great combination.”
As Director of Play and Learning, Housewert is responsible for all educational aspects of the Museum. Her experience as a graduate with a BS in education, a licensed teacher educator, manager and now Director within various informal education settings brings a wealth of knowledge in educational techniques, child development, team collaboration, financial management and overall concept understanding. During her 17 years of experience in the informal setting, she has created new programming, spearheaded educational design projects, installed evaluation measures, created and maintained budgets.
Housewert notes, “C’mon was also able to make connections with a few new local organizations to fulfill a portion of our grant opportunities to provide the museum experience to children in need. One of the examples is when a group of families with children with Down’s Syndrome from Gigi’s Playhouse were able to come to the museum free of charge to enjoy a day of play, family togetherness, and new experiences!”
